MMUN

The Montessori Model of United Nations (MMUN) team is a group of students that are trained for participating in simulations of the General Assembly of the United Nations, in which they take on the role of ambassadors of member states in order to debate current topics and reach consensus on possible solutions. We participate in different conferences hosted by universities or schools in Lima. We follow the Montessori model as a non competitive approach and as a model that is focused on reaching agreements. However, the team also participates in competitive MUN conferences in order to strengthen their understanding of the Model United Nations and to practice public speaking and debating skills in the English language.

The MMUN program involves after school study for training sessions and, depending on their level of skills, some students could participate in the MMUN trip to be part of the MMUN International Conference. These normally take place in New York or in Rome. MMUN develops many different skills such as research, writing and communications skills, critical thinking, problem solving and leadership skills. The MMUN programme is open to all students from Grade 6 onwards.
